Azmi’s 1 year ‘younger’!

Happy belated birthday, Azmi. i know it’s a lil too late, but still… It’s better late than never. so yeah, enjoy life!

My very first post.

Farewell, Farewell

There’s been a ‘Cabinet reshuffle’, or so Ai Vee, the 2nd President of our club, says.

I will not be in the committee this year, so I thought I’d just type out a ‘farewell post’.

After this post, I will no longer be the one ensuring the continuity of the blog. Instead, the responsibility will be passed on to someone else, the next Vice President Public Relations, who I hope will not let my hard work go to waste! (hint!)

I was not informed of his/her identity. The President, Chuan Ai Vee, told me that she’d rather that it remain as a surprise. And considering that I have no idea who’s in the next committee, I’ll just leave it to my successor to make the announcement.

It’s kinda sad, really, leaving the committee, or Cabinet, as Ai Vee calls it. I mean, 2 years in it can make anyone attached! But I just can’t commit myself. I’m too busy with my ko-ku that I barely have time to study! And it’s my SPM year!

So to the next Cabinet, good luck in handling The 1st Malaysian Gavel Club!

   Signing out,

   Jerrenn L

   Au Revoir!

Chinese New Year, Election 2008

So much has happened since I last blogged.    Chinese New Year came and went, and I’m sure we’re all now fattened by the large amount of food that we consumed during the auspicious period.

Recently, I saw an article in StarMag about a public speaking competition in Bahasa Malaysia. I’m too lazy to search for it, however, so you’ll just have to read to StarOnline and serach for it yourself. Sorry :)

I figured I should also write about latest happenings in our country. Parliament was dissolved yesterday, although the PM said it wouldn’t. The election is scheduled to be on March 8. So Azmi, and everyone eligible out there, vote for your candidate!

Our President, Yeoh Ee Ping, also won the Badminton MSSD- Girls’ Doubles. She will now represent Petaling in the MSSS. Good luck, Ee Ping!

I wanted to blog about this but just couldn’t find time yesterday. Did any of you realise that we’re not two years old? We were chartered on the 13th of February, 2006. So,

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Not to mention, today’s Valentine’s Day. Enjoy this day with your loved ones, guys!    I’ll stop here. See you soon!

Happy Thaipusam!

It seems that I’ve been posting a lot of well wishes for celebrations lately.

But anyway, I’m sure everyone appreaciates a public holiday. It’s a day for you to catch up with homework (for me, anyway!), spend time with friends, or family.

So this year, make sure you spend Thaipusam to the fullest! Don’t waste a second!

Happy New Year

Christmas has come and gone, and now we find ourselves getting ready for another celebration: New Year!

So what have you all gonna do? A day out with friends? Dinner with family? Everyone has started to plan what they’ll do on New Year’s Eve.

And let’s not forget resolutions. Did you accomplish everything on the list? Or have you misplaced it? Well, now’s the time to make a new list, and try not to lose it.

   HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Merry Christmas!

As you all know, Christmas is fast approaching. So have you started to buy present sfor family and friends? I seem to fail miserably at this, maybe because I can’t afford most gifts! Haha.

I’m sure you all have plans for Christmas. Perhaps a good book? Or a good movie?

Anyway, since I’ll be away for a few days at my grandparents’ for Christmas, I’ll just wish all of you out there first:

                      MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Top 5 movies at the box office

The school holidays hasn’t ended yet!

So why not head to the cinema with family and friends and watch that movie you’ve been itching to set your eyes on! Here’s the top 5:

1. The Golden Compass

2. Enchanted

3. This Christmas (I don’t think it’s in Malaysian cinemas though)

4. Fred Claus (Same)

5. Beowulf

I’ve also just realised that out of the top 5, I’ve watched all that’s shown at Malaysian cinemas!

The Golden Compass is based on the first of Philip Pullman’s fantasy trilogy, Northern Lights. It’s about a girl who embarks on a journey to save her father and friends from danger with a remarkable instrument.

Enchanted is a Disney production. So if you dislike Disney movies, I suggest you pick something else instead. Although, it IS a little different. It’s about a girl from some fairy tale who ends up being in New York! So it’s not exactly the normal Disney film. Yet, I have friends who regretted watching it.

Beowulf is based on an old English poem. That’s all I know about it. Oh, and it’s slightly animated. I don’t know what you call it.

So hurry up and get tickets! Time waits for no man, or woman!
